Wang Zhaozhuo Wins Gold Medals in the Italian International Snow Sculpture Competition

From the 12thto the 19thof January, 2011, the 25thItalian International Snow Sculpture Competition was held in Innichen and San Vigilio. Chinese team consisting of Wang Zhaozhuo, a teacher from the School of Art, and two other team members participated in the competition, and won the gold medals.

Having the history of twenty-five years, the Italian International Snow Sculpture Competition is one of the largest and most famous international snow sculpture competitions in Europe. Basing on the on-line designs of 50 teams from all over the world, the organizing committee selected fifteen teams to participate in the competition, which included the Chinese team, Russian team, Canadian team, Italian team and so on.

The competition was held in Innichen and San Vigilio. The works had to be finished within 3 days, and then they were going to be inspected and voted by the jury and tourists from all over the world. Eventually the works created by Chinese team,Green MemoryandCurve Constitute, defeated the other competitive teams and won the championship, getting the best results of Chinese team in the Europeansnow sculpture competitions, winning honor for China and HUST.(Photos byZhang Honglei, Chen Bin)
