Parkinson’s disease, or PD, is a disorder of the neural system leading to limb tremors and difficulty in walking and other movements. There are 2 million patients suffering from PD in China and the number is increasing by 100,000 annually. Traditionally PD had to be treated through medical or surgical methods, but now with the invention of Aobo therapeutic apparatus, the first therapeutic apparatus to treat PD in the world, transcranial magnetic stimulation can be used as the third choice.
As a set of purely self-developed apparatus of China, “Aobo therapeutic apparatus” was issued “Medical Device Product Registration Certificate” on January 31, 2011. Moreover, Heilongjiang provincial government has listed the project in the “12th Five-year Development Program” to support its further research specially.
Graduated from Harbin Electromechanical Polytechnic, one of the three founding elements of HUST, Professor Sun is always seen as one of the most outstanding alumni in his alma mater. Up to now, he has won him quite a few honorable titles and awards, including 2007’s national “May 4th Youth Medal”.
