On May 31, the 2ndSimulated International Conference on Advanced Materials hosted by School of Material Science and Engineering was held on the West Campus. President Li Dayong, Vice President Guo Erjun, Vice Director of the Graduate School Zheng Minli, Director of the Foreign Languages School Jiang Yufeng, and leaders and students of the Material Science and Engineering attended the opening ceremony. The conference was hosted by Doctor Weng Ling, the chairman of the conference.
Li Dayong delivered a speech in the opening ceremony. He affirmed the effect of the conference. It can improve the communicating capability of the young teachers and graduate students. He also extended his gratitude to the organizers, lecturers and volunteers. The simulated international conference enables the participants to promote their confidence and improve their linguistic proficiency.
Jiang Yufeng emphasized the significance of the conference. He encouraged the students to improve their English and their communicating skills. He calls for more students to participate in the conference. Sun Fenglian, Director of the School of Material Science and Engineering expressed her gratitude and welcome to the leaders and guests. Compared with the 1st Simulated International Conference on Advanced Materials, the 2ndone has made great improvement both in quality and in scales.
The conference received 31 papers and held two branch conference sites. Professor Han Zhidong and Professor Shi Dequan delivered the invitation report respectively. 29 people presented research reports and the participants amounted to 100. After careful evaluation, the conference selected two First Prize, four Second Prize and eight Third Prize.
