On the morning of May 18, the opening ceremony of the 3rdInternational Russian Contest—Russia, the Song in My Heart—was held in the fifth conference room in the New Building on the West Campus. This contest was hosted by Russian Blagoveshchensk National Normal University and Harbin University of Science and Technology, co-organized by the Russian Organization of Heilongjiang Province and Northeast Network. The representatives were Li Dayong, the President of Harbin University of Science and Technology, Zhang Xiang, the vice-minister of Propaganda Department in Heilongjiang Province, Xin Zhongbao, the deputy director of Heilongjiang Educational Department, Zhao Hong, the vice-president of Harbin University of Science and Technology, Zhang Dazhu, the head of International Cooperation and Exchange in Heilongjiang Educational Department, Deng Jun, the head of Heilongjiang Russian Organization, Bi Xiaohong, the dean of Northeast Network, Jiang Yufeng, the dean of HUST School of Foreign Languages, Wu Xiuhua, the dean of International Culture School, Wu Qiufeng, the vice-dean of Propaganda Department and the President of Blagoveshchensk National Normal University, the representatives of Tourism and Business Department.
At the opening ceremony, the representatives from both parties gave their speech respectively. President Li Dayong expressed the warmest welcome to all the contestants and the guests on behalf of our university. At the same time, he expressed his best wishes to all the leaders and the representatives from both at home and abroad. President Li said, “Russian is the language of Russian people. In the meanwhile, it is also the common language which is communicated by all the people in the Commonwealth of Independent States. Now Russian is the important means to support the international communication and an important part to develop world civilization and culture. The aim of this contest is to improve the students’ interest in mastering Russian and Russian culture, in order to strengthen the communication and cooperation between the Northeast in China and Russian areas and deepen our friendship.” Finally, President Li hoped that this contest could succeed and every contestant could perform their best.
The president of Blagoveshchensk National Normal University expressed the best wishes for all the contestants and guests.
Xin Zhongbao, the deputy director of Heilongjiang Educational Department and Deng Jun, the dean of Foreign Languages School in Heilongjiang University expressed their welcome and hope for the coming contest respectively. They hoped the young could improve their Russian skills and strengthen the communication and cooperation with other universities.
The vice-president of Harbin University of Science and Technology, Zhao Hong declared the opening of the contest.
According to the rules of the contest, this contest is divided into two phases. The contest involves Russian knowledge contest, Russian composition contest, oral contest, Russian songs contest, Russian opera contest, etc.
