On June 10th, invited by School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, professor Xu Zhenming and professor Cao Xinde who are the vice-principals in the School of Environmental Science and Engineering in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, visited our School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, and in the meanwhile communicated and exchanged academic ideas with the teaching staff and students.

Sun Xiaojun, the principal of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering School met professors Xu Zhenming and Cao Xinde, the vice-principals from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Sun Xiaojun, on behalf of the school, expressed the heated welcome for the visitors from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The two parties briefly introduced the developing history, majors, curriculum and scientific direction, etc, respectively. In addition, the two parties exchanged their ideas about the developing trend in the aspect of environmental science and engineering science, and discussed the heated problems about environmental pollution in the 21st century. They hoped that the two universities can communicate and cooperate in the long run.

As the experts in the aspect of solid waste treatment and reuse, professor Cao Xinde and Professor Xu Zhenming, combining their own scientific target and achievements, gave the academic lecture to the teaching staff and students. Both the two professors gave excellent lectures and teachers and students actively asked questions and communicated with the two professors.

All the teachers and students who attended the lecture expressed that the lecture made them broaden their horizon, acquire knowledge and they benefited a lot from the lecture. They have more confidence to carry out the research in the environmental science and engineering.

After the lecture, Li Dayong, president of Harbin University of Science and Technology met Xu Zhenming, the vice-principal in Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
