At the invitation of our university, Carl D. Vizza, Dean of Applied Technology Studying Department of IIT and Zhai Hua, Dean of International Purser Department of China office of IIT arrived at HUST for a working visit.
Vice President Zhao Hong met with the delegation. Firstly, he expressed his welcome for guests. Meanwhile he introduced the conditions of our school and especially presented the elite students’ classes of Electric Engineering and Automation major in great detail. In order to implement the undergraduates’ diversified and internationalized education, our university would send outstanding students to prestigious universities to cultivate the new top-notch talents with substantial academic fundament. Prof. Carl D. Vizza expressed his gratitude for Vice President Zhao Hong’s warm reception and his honor for visiting HUST, and also got to know the subjects, majors and the development situation of our university after visiting our school’s history room, and he hoped the both sides could carry out cooperation in students’ exchange in future. Prof. Carl D. Vizza introduced PLP (Professional Learning Program) which aims at the international students who got certain professional background, whose professional fields cover IT and Business. And this program adds Electrical Engineering course according to our university’s specific situation. Both sides exchanged opinions and reached a preliminary consensus in line with student cultivation program. Vice President Zhao Hong hoped that the two sides could also carry out teacher exchange program on the student program basis by using CSC fund to make a study visit. At last, Prof. Carl D. Vizza invited our school to visit IIT to promote understanding, contact intimately, and enhance bilateral cooperation.
IIT is one of three universities of science and engineering in America, which was founded in 1890, and has developed into a powerful comprehensiveness private university which can confer doctoral degree qualification and is elected into top 100 American colleges and universities by USNEWS and Princeton Review. IIT is located in Chicago. Campus environment is elegant. The facilities are advanced.
IIT’s qualification gains the most reputation. IIT has cultivated many graduates who contribute a lot to world science and technology, and three of alumnus are Nobel Prize Winner.
