From October 17^thto 20^th, the National College Russian Contest of 2013 was held by the Ministry of Education in Dalian University of Foreign Languages. With the support of Office of Teaching Affairs and Graduate School, Russian Department prepared elaborately and trainedenergetically under the care and solicitude from Jiang Yufeng the Dean of Foreign Language Department and Zhen Yanhua the Subdecanal who administrates the management of teaching. Our team achieved better results in low grade group. Tang Lingyu was listed the 14^thin 126 elites from different colleges and universities and obtained the scholarship from CSC (Chinese Scholarship Council).

National College Russian Contest is one of the five institutionalization projects in educational field of the series of activities of reciprocal national years, language years and tourist years between China and Russia, which aims at facilitating the communication in Sino-Russian cultural field, improving Russian education, and selecting, cultivating and depositing Russian talents. The contest will be held once a year and geared to all colleges and universities with Russian Department. Applicants are the undergraduates and postgraduates who major in Russia. The contest which places particular emphasis on examining the contestants’ basic skills and highlights the practical skills adopts the Elimination system, which consists of preliminary contest, intermediary heat and finals and which is classified into junior and senior undergraduate groups and graduate group.

There are 108 teams over 300 contestants attending this contest, including Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai International Studies University, Xi’an International Studies University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Nankai University, Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, Nanjing University and other prestigious universities. And our school is the only university of science and technology in the first 14^thof the junior groups, which is described in the box below:
