The 4th Grassland Music Festival — A Glorious Intersection of Music and Culture, Telling China’s Story through Music

At 6:00 p.m. on May 27, 2024, the 29th Hengxing University Culture, Art, and Sports Festival of Harbin University of Science and Technology — the Evening of the Fourth Building Dreams with Care, Sharing Celestial Melody Lawn Music Festival and Flea Market, hosted by the School Youth League Committee of HUST and organized by School of Economics and Management, was held ceremoniously at the sports field in the South Campus.

Secretary of the University Party Committee, Zhaolin and Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, Zhao Shuishan, attended the event. Li Hao, Director of the Party Office, Dai Xiangzhu, Director of the Student Affairs Department, Han Yubo, Secretary of the University Youth League Committee, the Dean Wu Jianlong, Secretary of Party Committee, Zhou Changqun, of School of Economics and Management, members of the school leadership team, as well as some deputy secretaries and teachers from the school, were also present to watch the performance. Reporters from China News Service were also at the scene to provide in-depth coverage of this event. Meanwhile, Li Yanan, the head of the Harbin Branch of SUCCESS, attended the event.

This event was also broadcast live on the official account HUST Youth , allowing students who couldnt attend in person to experience the lively atmosphere synchronously.

Music intertwined with passion, creating an extraordinary and lively atmosphere at the scene. Yunnans folk dance, with its unique rhythm, immersed the audience in a passionate and unrestrained summer ambiance. Students from the Dream-Builders Chorus of School of Economics and Management sang Song of HUST with fiery enthusiasm, showcasing the unique charm of the students from their school. The drum dance Chinese Loong conveyed the national spirit through its powerful rhythm and expressive body language, pushing the atmosphere to its climax. The flute solo Climbing Spring Mountain by special guest Li Kerao seemed to transport the audience into a poetic and picturesque spring scene, with the flute melody lingering in the air and the sense of spring abounding.

Love for the Motherland sung by Sun Xiaoyu extolled the scenic wonders of the motherland through her moving vocals, deeply conveying her passionate love for it. Meanwhile, With Me by Qi Tong showcased the spiritual demeanor of youth in the new era, inspiring students to actively devote themselves to realizing the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation. Additionally, Lady Shexiang by Ye Xiang and Lu Deshen took viewers on a journey through a glorious historical legend, conveying the values of the Chinese nation in unity for dream pursuit and cherishing peace. The chorus A Declaration of Youthful China by Xinghuo Chorus ignited the patriotism of the audience on site, demonstrating the responsibility and commitment of youth in the new era. The song I Believe captured the spirit of contemporary HUST students who bravely stand at the forefront of trends and forge ahead with determination. The rendition of Katyusha by international students from Russia brought a unique Russian charm and historical flavor to the audience, creating an audiovisual feast. And songs such as The First Day and The Road to Ordinary performed by the Water Molecule Band, with their emotional melodies and sincere lyrics, struck a chord in the heart of every audience at the scene.

At the flea market, students eagerly displayed their handmade crafts, second-hand books, and creative gadgets, which not only developed their practical abilities but also fostered friendship and mutual understanding among students. Here, everyone was a protagonist, and each item carried a unique emotion and story.

Although the Lawn Music Festival has come to an end, the enthusiasm and passion it ignited have forever lingered in the hearts of every participant. They eagerly anticipate the next gathering, looking forward once again to convey emotions through music and express their dreams through songs. On the fertile ground of Harbin University of Science and Technology, they will continue to write the chapters of their youth, illuminating the future of their dreams with music.
