On the afternoon of November 28th, 2023, Weng Bo, Deputy Director oftheDepartment of Teacher Education of the Ministry of Education, and Wang Fazhou, Deputy Director of the Department of Moral Educationof the Ministry of Education, visited ouruniversityfor research.Theysuccessively visited theuniversity’s scientific and technological achievements exhibition hall,universityhistory museum, and Wang Daheng Memorial Hall.
Zhao Lin,Secretary of the Party Committee of HUST, warmly received Weng Bo,Wang Fazhou and their entourage. On behalf of the university, he expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education for its consistent concern and support for Harbin University of Science and Technology’s educational development over the years. At the same time, he said thatguided by the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress,HUSTwouldadhere to the fundamental task of cultivatingstudentswith morality and wisdom.We wouldfully leverage thestrengthofmechanical andpowerengineering and equipment manufacturing disciplinesto foster talents forourparty and country.We would alsostrive to make contributions to the strategies of building a strong country in education, talent, science and technology.
Weng Bo and Wang Fazhouvisited theuniversityhistory museum and Wang Daheng Memorial Hall, where they gained a comprehensive understanding of the history, discipline construction, scientific research, talent cultivation, and cultural heritage of HUST. They particularlyaffirmedthe significant achievements made by the university over the past 70 years. In the exhibition hall of scientific and technological achievements, Kang Shouqiang, theDirector of the Science and Technology Department, presented an overview of the main scientific research achievements and transformations achieved by our teachers and research teams. He emphasized the university’s recent scientific research projects, the transformation and practical applications of research outcomes, and the keyaccomplishments obtained. Weng Bo and Wang Fazhou expressed their affirmation of these accomplishments.
Weng Bo and Wang Fazhou said that Harbin University of Science and Technologyenjoysa long history and profound foundation.Situated in Heilongjiang, the university has firmly established itself in the electromechanical industry through consistent efforts.Over time, it has grown into the largest provincial university of science and engineering in Heilongjiang province, renowned for its distinctive characteristics and exceptional strength. It is hoped that Harbin University of Science and Technology will continue to uphold and carry forward the“Da Heng Spirit”under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era. Guided by the school motto of‘Unity of Knowledge and Practice, Profoundness and Longevity’and following the national needs and the pulse of the times, it is further hoped that the university will prioritize discipline construction and strive unceasingly, seeking truth and innovation. The ultimate aim is to establish itself as a distinctive and national-class university of science and engineering, making more significant contributions to national economic and social development.
