[Good News] HUST Journal of Electrical Machinery and Control Selected for the Classification Catalogue of High Quality Science and Technology Journals

Recently,China Electrotechnical Society and the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering published the“Directory of High-Quality Scientific Journals in the Electrical Engineering Field (2022 Edition)”and the“Directory of High-Quality Scientific Journals in the Energy and Power Field (2022 Edition)”respectively. Our university’s journal,“Journal of Motor and Control”, was first selected for T1 (the highest level) and T2 level in the two directories. T1represents the journalapproaching or reaching the international first-class journal standard, while T2 represents internationally renowned journal standards.

According to criteria such as content quality, publishing standard, and academic reputation, the China Electrotechnical Society has selected 106 journals from 710 covering various disciplines, based on principles of peer review, value orientation, and equivalent use, and included them in the“Directory of High-Quality Scientific Journals in the Electrical Engineering Field (2022 Edition)”.Itincludes 22 T1-level journals, 33 T2-level journals, and 51 T3-level journals. Our university’s“Journal of Motor and Control”is one of the seven Chinese journals in T1 level.

The Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering selected 139 journals from 868 to include in the“Directory of High-Quality Scientific Journals in the Energy and Power Field (2022 Edition)”, comprising 27 T1-level journals, 49 T2-level journals, and 63 T3-level journals. Our university’s“Journal of Motor and Control”is classified as T2 level.

In recent years, with the successiveimplementationsofrelevantpolicies, the development of national scientific journals has accelerated. In order to promote the high-quality development ofour“Motor and Control”jounralintheincreasingly competitive environment, the university’s Science and Technology Department activelyorganized the Journal Management Committee to address the issues encountered in journal development and formulated a series of effective measures. Firstly, it established a scientific development path and cooperated with national first-level associations to leverage their advantages, as the result, the influence of our journal has been rapidly enhanced. Now,“Motor and Control”has been officially approved by the State Administration of Press and Publication to be jointlypublishedby our university and the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, and it has been among the first batch to join the electric power and energy journal platform. Secondly, it adjusted the journal’s structure around scholars as the core, making full use of the university’s disciplinary and scholarly advantages to achieve a win-win situation for the discipline, scholars, and journal. Thirdly, it improved the overall service quality by shortening the submission cycle, promoting priority publication, and optimizing the ratio of high-quality manuscripts published.

Through close collaboration between the Science and Technology Department and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, our“Motor and Control”successfully joined the high-quality scientific journal directory at the T1 level. This is another important breakthrough following its inclusion in the Engineering Index (EI) in 2007, and it is a full affirmation and encouragement of the university's journal development construction over thepastyears. Next, wewill leverage this opportunity to contribute to the goal of building our university into a first-class science and engineering university in China.
