HUST Successfully Hosts the 3rdInternational Forum on Electrified Transportation and Energy Storage

The 3rdInternational Forum on Electrified Transportation and Energy Storage was successfully held. The forum was organized by Harbin University of Science and Technology (HUST) and the Energy Storage System and Equipment Professional Committee of the China Electrotechnical Society. It was co-sponsored by the Key Laboratory of Engineering Dielectrics and its Applications, Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Automotive Electronic Drive Control and System Integration. Liu Xia,presidentofHUST, and Huang Wei, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the conference, along with Academician Sergey M.Aldoshin,vicepresidentof the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Academician Stepan Kalmykov, also from the Russian Academy of Sciences. Over 200 domestic and international experts and scholars participated in the conference. Chen Qingguo,vicepresidentofHUSTserved as the chairman of the conference and presided over the opening ceremony. Liu Ji, Dean of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at HUST, and Deputy Dean Chen Minghua served as executive chairmen. The forum, held in the context of the“Belt and Road”initiative, facilitated international in-depth exchanges among scholars from China, Russia, Belarus, South Korea, Singapore, and other multilateral countries. The discussions centered around the opportunities and challenges faced by new energy materials and devices, electric transportation, energy storage systems, and equipment under the“carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”strategic goals. The aim was to promote industry technological progress, innovation, talent cultivation, and the transformation of achievements.

Renowned experts in flexible electronics, including Academician Huang Wei from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Aleksei N. Kuznetsov from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Foreign Academician Cai Wei from the Russian Academy of Engineering, and Foreign Academician Shen Zexiang from the Russian Academy of Sciences, delivered groundbreaking presentations. Academicians, experts and scholars give conference reports
The international forum, featuring five sub-forums, covered topics including new energy materials and devices, high-energy-density and high-safety battery technology, electric transportation power technology, electric transportation power supply technology, and electrical equipment insulation and detection technology. Over 40 young scholars from both domestic and international institutions were invited to give presentations, with more than 20 of them being nationally recognized young talents. Attendees, including experts, scholars, and students, actively listened to the academic presentations, engaged in enthusiastic discussions, and asked questions related to the presentations. The atmosphere at the venue was vibrant.

The successful organization of this international forum provides an excellent platform for promoting collaboration among researchers from different countries. Under the guidance ofvicepresidentChen Qingguo, the organizing committee carefully planned and coordinated the event, involving various departments of the university. Over 10 faculty members and more than 70 graduate students from the School of Electrical Engineering actively participated in the conference’s service work, providing meticulous assistance to the attending experts and scholars, earning unanimous praise. The forum significantly enhanced HUST’s influence both domestically and internationally. In the future,HUSTplans to deepen practical cooperation in talent cultivation, academic exchange, scientific research, and resource sharing, providing crucial support for advancing HUST’s international cooperation platform, building first-class disciplines, and establishing high-level talent teams.
