On the afternoon of May Day, an inspection team including Shen Lin, the vice Party secretary from Provincial Department of Education and Provincial Education Committee; Zhao Hongbin, the director of Personnel Department from Provincial Education Committee and Yang Debin, the investigator of Provincial Education Committee, came to HUST to guide the Covid-19 prevention & control work.
At 14:00, a symposium was held in the 2nd Conference Room on the fifth floor of the Main Teaching Building, West Campus. Besides the above 3 inspection team members, HUST’s Party Secretary Zhang Hongtao, Vice President Guo Erjun and the directors from major functional departments, such as Office of University Affairs, Publicity Department, Department of Students’ Affairs, Logistics Management Department, State-owned Assets Management Department, Security Department, University Hospital, etc., attended the symposium.
On the symposium, Party Secretary Zhang reported the work having been done successfully up to now under the instruction of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on April 29 and the official document (No.10 [2020]) of Provincial Government, esp., the rearrangement on teaching, graduation thesis defense and the second-round exam for postgraduate admission from traditional modes to online modes, and made an overall conclusion from pros and cons.
After an in-depth exchange of views on issues of current epidemic prevention & control work from various aspects among 3 inspectors and HUST attendees, Vice Party Secretary Shen, the leader of inspection team, affirmed the wonderful work completed in HUST for epidemic prevention & control and stressed the challenges lying ahead. He encouraged the whole staff working in HUST campus now to keep on detecting possibly potential loopholes and reinforcing weak links at any time, in strict accordance with the instructions made by General Secretary Xi as well as the requirements of Provincial CPC Committee & Provincial Government, so as to ensure the safety after HUST’s resumption of schooling in the near future.
After the symposium, Vice President Guo hosted a conference for some members of HUST Leading Group on Covid-19 Prevention & Control to further refine their work on campus.
