On the afternoon of April 11, the 3rdplenary meeting of the 4thExecutive Committee of HUST was held in the 2ndconference room of the new main building, west campus, with all the members of the Executive Committeepresent. Zhang Hongtao,Secretary of the Party Committee of HUST, delivered a speech on the meeting, which waspresided over by Lu Yan, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Teachers’ Congress and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of HUST.
At the meeting, the members of the Executive Committee first addressed the resolutions (draft) of the three reports on the school work report, financial work report and the disposal of school idle assets to solve the school funding strategy at the2ndsession of the4thTeachers’ Congress (hereinafter referred to as “resolution” (Draft)") was discussed and revised.Xu Xiangchen,ViceChairman of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the LaborUnion, first reported on the discussions of the delegations. Representatives of the delegations discussed the three reports and made constructive comments and suggestions.Liao Jingming,Executive Vice Chairman of the Labor Union, read out the “resolution (draft)” of the three reportsfor further discussion.Zhou Changqun,Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee and Minister of the Department of Publicityof the Party Committee, explained the list of suggestions for the adjustment of some members of several special committees under the Executive Committee of the Teachers’ Congress. The list of proposals was unanimously approved by all members.
Lu Yan pointed out that the discussion opinions of the representatives of the delegation on the three reports played an important role in the formation of the “resolution (draft)”. After the meeting, they will be further revised according to the revision opinions of the members.They will besent to delegations for deliberation and voting.She emphasized that the special committees under the Executive Committee of theadjusted Teachers’ Congress should continue to assume the duties assigned by the Teachers’ Congress, coordinate and cooperate with relevant departments tojointly organize the teaching representatives,laborunion, and especially our employees themselves.
Finally, Zhang Hongtao pointed out in his concluding remarks that the major issues of HUST after the full discussion of the representatives of the Teachers’ Congress are the important part of the school's scientific and democratic decision-making. It is necessary to form a normal working mechanism, transfer the work ideas of the school party committee to the faculty and staff, unite the people’s hearts, boost morale, and work together to accelerate the high-quality development of HUST.He pointed out that the Executive Committee of the Teachers’ Congress is the executive body of the faculty congress during the intersessional period to carry out the work of the Teachers’ Congress.It must give full play to its functional role. The Executive Committee meeting is normalized and involves all major issues ofHUSTand the collective interests of the employees. All the things have been reviewed and discussed by the Executive Committee of the Congress, and the opinions and suggestions of the employees have been fed back to make good decisions forthe development of HUST.He emphasized thatHUSTis our common home. In the current situation of facing difficulties, all the workers mustencounterthe difficulties, maintain a positive and enterprising work status and the spirit of hard work and dedication, and exert collective wisdom to work together to overcome the difficulties of HUST.
