On September 29, Young Scholar Forum entitled “New Energy Materials and Devices” was held in HUST. Sponsored by the Key Laboratory of Engineering Dielectrics and Its Applications in Ministry of Education and School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and hosted by HUST, the forum was attended by more than 20 youngexperts and scholars respectively from Zhejiang University, China University of Science and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University, Suzhou University, Harbin Institute of Technology, City University of Hong Kong and Nanyang Polytechnic University of Singapore, as well as editors of Wiley Publishing Group. HUST Vice President Fang Wenbin was invited to be present at the forum as an honored guest. The opening ceremony waspresided by Dean of Electrical and Electronic Engineering College.
Vice President Fang made an opening speech and extended a warm welcome to the experts and scholars from home and abroad. He gave a brief introduction to the history of our university, the characteristics and advantages of the discipline, the ambitions of building a world-class university and world-class disciplines, and the construction of “special talent zone”. Vice President Fang hoped that experts, scholars, teachers and students would enhance mutual understanding, strengthen cooperation and achieve fruitful results through the exchange of academic communications.
During the one-day seminar, more than 20 well-known young experts and scholars in the field of new energy materials and devices both at home and abroad and the editors of Wiley Publishing Group made academic reports, focusing on the design and synthesis of new energy materials, energy storage and conversion, and the development and application of related devices. Through this seminar, the experts and scholars not only carried out a wide range of frontier exchanges and cooperation in the field of new energy materials and devices, but also promoted the influence of our university in the field of new materials and new energy at home and abroad. At the same time, it also played a positive role in the construction of new energy materials and devices in our university.
At the end, the attendees of the forum visited the Graphene Application Technology Collaborative Innovation Center, accompanied by some teachers and students. In the forum, some frontier research topics were discussedin detail and scientific research cooperation programs were proposed.
