Expert Panel from Ministry of Education Researches on Graduates’ Employment in HUST

On April 6th, the expert panel from Ministry of Education researched on graduates’ employment in our university, which was headed by Zhu Kongjun, Deputy Party Secretary from Zhongshan University, and included Assistant Inspector Xie Tiankai from Guizhou University, Head Zhang Hua from the Career Center for College Graduates in Guizhou Province, Deputy Director Wang Dacheng from National College Students’ Information and Career Center. Moreover, Zhang Libo, Head of College Students’ Information and Career Center in Heilongjiang Province, and Lü Boxiong, a journalist from China Youth Daily, accompanied the expert panel to research in our university.

In the morning, a meeting for reporting graduates’ employment was held in our university. At beginning of the meeting, Party Secretary Gao Jun and President Li Dayong extended their warm welcome to the experts on behalf of HUST. Then Vice President Wu Junfeng introduced the specific measures and future plans of graduates’ employment in our university. Later expert panel found out the comprehensive situations of graduates’ employment in our university by heeding the opinions of teachers and students, seeing the conditions of graduates’ employment, and visiting the engineering training center and history museum of our university.

At four o’clock in the afternoon, a meeting was heldin the first conference room of the main buildingaiming at providing feedback from the expert panel after their field research. President Li Dayong, Vice President Wu Qunfeng, and directors fromFinancial Plan Department, Teaching Division, Students Division, Youth League Committee, HUST National Science Park, Reception Center, Energy Conservation Office, School of Military Training & Teaching, Enrollment and Employment Office and so on attended the meeting.

On behalf of the expert panel, Mr. Zhu Kongjun delivered a speech concerning the feedback. He pointed out, firstly, that our university could cooperate fully with companies to create the diverse training model for college students. Secondly, based on not only our university but also industries, regions and subjects, students could acquire the creative andentrepreneurship education. In this process,HUST National Science Park has achieved great success. Thirdly, with the joint efforts of the leaders in our university, graduates’ employment guidance and service achieved balanced development. Fourthly, there are favorable employment patternsand atmosphere. Besides, Mr. Zhu Kongjun provided many suggestions for our university.

Vice President Wu Junfeng expressed heartfelt thanks for the industrious working of expert panel. He mentioned that experts’ ideas, methods, and philosophyare sovaluable that we will combine them with our 12thfive-year plan.

At the meeting, President Li Dayong also pointed out that we would continue to summarize the four features, and implement the suggestions from experts. Besides, in the process of implementing the diverse training program, all departments should ponder over how to promote graduates’ employment,effectively improve the quality and level of training, and contribute to the local economic development.
