On the afternoon of September 19th, Chinese-Foreign Presidents Forum, part of HUST’s 60thanniversary celebration activities, was held in HUST.
This forum attracted presidents from 20 universities:State University of Belarus,Bulgaria Sophia University of Science and Engineering,Silicon Valley University,PittsburgState University,Shenyang University of Technology, Taiwan Chung Hua University, Konyang University of Koreaand so forth, focusing on the development and future of higher education and exploring the issues of promoting talents quality in higher engineering colleges.
On behalf of HUST, President Li Dayong addressed the forum, expressing warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the presidents and guests present at the forum and our 60 years anniversary celebration. In his speech, he introduced the basic and current educational situation in HUST and wished an everlasting friendship between HUST and other universities.
On the forum, 20 presidents from Chinese-foreign universities all delivered their speeches. Vice President Zhao Hong hosted the forum and exchanged his views on educational innovation, challenges of rapid development of science and technology, missions of universities in regional economic development and international cooperation.
Vice President Meng Dawei was highly spoken of by other presidents because of his introduction of the current situation of HUST, elaboration of problems hindering the development of engineering talents and analysis of new opportunities in the future.
This forum was an unprecedented occasion, on which the intended effect was reached, with 600 teachers and students benefiting a great deal from it. It’s also a platform of sharing the intelligence and experience of educational development and a high-levelled dialogue of college spirit and innovative thoughts.
