On October18, the first Provincial Young Teachers’ Teaching Contest, hosted by the HLJ Universities Work Committee, HLJ Provincial Department of Education and Provincial Educational Union, undertaken by HUST Trade Union, rounded off after two days’ fierce competition. Chairman of HUST Trade Union Yang Chun attended the closing ceremony and presented awards to the contestants.
Liu Zhuofu, teacher from School of Measurement-Control Technology and Communications Engineering, achieved the first prize by bilingual teaching of the course: Digital Signal Processing and Analysis, and the best teaching plan as well. Luo Laizhen fromSchoolofApplied Sciencesgot a second prize for the presentation of Advanced Mathematics.
On October 17, Pang Baokun, teacher fromSchoolofForeign Languagesgot the second prize by teaching Advanced English, and Wang Shurui won the third prize in Liberal Arts and English teaching competition which was undertaken byHarbinEngineeringUniversity. Professor Yu Xiaoyang achieved the best supervisor, and HUST was awarded the outstanding organization. Professor Guo Jianying was appointed leader of the judging group

From May of this year，the supervisors team was formed by our chief inspectors: Professor Guo Jianying, Professor Yu Xiaoyang—Director of School of Measurement-Control Technology and Communications Engineering, Professor Cui Yun’an—Director of School of Applied Science, Professor Guo Hong—Associate Dean of School of Foreign Languages, Professor Wang Zhuping from Electro-technique and Electronic Training and Teaching Center, and Qi Kaijun—the Vice Chairman of HUST Trade Union. All of them have carefully instructed these young teachers, enabling the four to achieve the impressive fruits and win great honor for our university.
HUST Trade Union successfully held this competition and closing ceremony. The organization committee of this contest and other participating universities spoke highly of the work of HUST, which also got support from Teaching Affairs Department, Experiments Administrative Department, General Office of HUST, Department of Publicity and United Front Work, Center of Information and Network, and Campus Management Section.
