Our University held the first conference about this semester's teaching work on September 6^th. The heads in Academic Affairs Office, Lab Management Office, Institute of Higher Education were present at this conference. Meng Dawei, vice president of our university, attended and gave speech in the meeting. Academic director Ge Baojun presided over the conference.

The head in Academic Affairs Office summarized the final exams last semester and the rebuilt, re-exam and make-up exam at the beginning of this semester. He also made arrangements on implementation of "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" project, deepening of style of study construction, advancement of excellent program, and promotion of students innovation experiment project.

The head in Lab Management Office delivered a brief speech on the work of upcoming laboratory safety inspection. The director of Higher Education Institute made arrangements on the declaration of provincial teaching achievement award and the teaching reform project in our university.

Vice president Meng Dawei summarized briefly on the teaching work in the first half year, and made thorough analysis on the achievements and existing problems. His speech focused on the deployment of teaching work in the second half of 2011. The core issue of teaching work in the second half of 2011 is strengthening the management of teaching process and further improving the teaching quality. And he emphasized on the following work: Starting undergraduate teaching quality monitoring system; completing check and acceptance the new training program; declaring provincial teaching achievement awards and education reform pilot projects from Provincial Department of Education; Paying attention to and participating actively in undergraduate teaching project from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. Setting up a complete system on laboratory teaching management; Promoting the improvement of style of study from strict exam discipline; further promoting the implementation of Excellent Engineer; paying attention to the learning and scientific research competitions; Completing the programme of elite class work in consideration of our actual situations, and drawing lessons from other universities, especially the success example from Harbin Institute of Technology; Promoting the reform of cultivation mode on applied talents, and making preparation on the work of recommending exam-free postgraduates.

Teaching jobs is the key work in our university. This conference provided clear thoughts and aims for the whole teachers in our university.
