On the morning of November 24, 2011, Deputy Director of HLJ Provincial Department of Education Zhang Changbin, together with the Basic Research Section Chiefs Zhai Qi and Cao Ying came to HUST to inspect the development situation of HLJ Dielectric Engineering Key Laboratory, namely State Key Laboratory Cultivation Base co-managed by the Ministry of Education and the provincial government. Laboratory Chief and Vice President Zhao Hong, Section Chief of Department of Science and Technology Zhang Xiaohong, Laboratory Deputy Chief Li Zhonghua, Chen Qingguo, Duan Hongwei, academic backbones of the laboratory Yin Jinghua, Wang Xuan, Han Zhidong, Liu Ji and other teachers attended the meeting and accompanied them.

Laboratory Deputy Chief Chen Qingguo gave a detailed report on development situation of the State Key Laboratory Cultivation Base to the leaders of the HLJ Provincial Department of Science and Technology in terms of the basic situation of the laboratory, research orientation and academic standing, development of research, academic project and research achievement, team construction and talent training, open cooperation and communication, platform construction, mechanism construction, backing unit and department support, existing problems and working thoughts, and so on.

Laboratory Chief and Vice President Zhao Hong supplemented the report from another six aspects, including that the laboratory should expand the academic influence in the field, the geographical disadvantages should be overcome to introduce the high-leveled talents actively, the disciplinary barriers should be broken down to help the young teachers to make progress quickly, the incentive system should be established to promote more high-quality academic paper publication, and engineering application should be emphasized and the basic research should be strengthened, as well as the situation of the use of funding which was allocated by the authority department and matched by the supporting units.

Deputy Director Zhang Changbin expressed appreciation for the development situation of HUST State Key Laboratory Cultivation Base and Vice President Zhao Hong showed gratitude for the great leadership and generous support given by the leaders of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
