Lately, on the 13th China International Hi-Tech Fair, the National Development and Reform Commission published the list of the approved and authorized state-region built engineering laboratory of 2011. The state-region co-built engineering laboratory of “High Efficiency Cutting and Tool” of HUST was officially approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. The Development and Reform Commission of Heilongjiang Province attended the award ceremony on behalf of these units of our province.

The National Engineering Laboratory is an important part of the national science and technology innovation system. As an important industrial technology infrastructure, the National Engineering Laboratory has been included in the National Long-Term Scientific and Technological Development Plan. The main task of the laboratory is to improve the ability of innovation and core competitiveness and provide technical support for the major strategic tasks and projects of our country.

The state-region co-built engineering laboratory of “High Efficiency Cutting and Tool” of HUST is the first one of the national engineering laboratory of Heilongjiang Province. Built in 2009, the Heilongjiang Province engineering laboratory of “High Efficiency Cutting and Tool” is our first laboratory authorized by the Development and Reform Commission. Under this situation, our school submitted the plan of building the “state-region co-built engineering laboratory of ‘High Efficiency Cutting and Tool’”. And the plan was authorized in August, 2011, which was a breakthrough in the construction of national scientific research.
