On the afternoon of July 2, conducted by President Li Dayong, a conference for all HUST cadres and backbone teachers was held in the Lecture Hall on the fifth floor of new main building, west campus. Decisions on appointment and dismissal of HUST’s main leaders made by Provincial Party Committee of Heilongjiang was announced in it.

According to the decision, Zhao Baogang was appointed as HUST’s new Party secretary from June 25,2013, after Gao Jun, the former HUST’s Party secretary retired.

Zhang Xiaolian, minister of communication section as well as and ofHeilongjiang Province attended the conference and delivered an important speech. He affirmed Party secretary Gao’s work and contribution on his duty highly and expressed good wished to his life after retirement. Then Minister Zhang introduced Zhao Baogang’s background in great details and praised his competence and quality highly. Minister Zhang also proposed his expectations in three aspects in HUST’s future work and showed his firm confidence.

HUST’s former Party secretary Gao, new Party secretary Zhao and President Li delivered their outgoing speech, inaugural address or concluding remarksin turn. To express their appreciation and support to the wise decision made by Provincial Party Committee and their determination to work harder on HUST’s construction.

Some other leaders from Provincial Party Committee, including Xu Mei, director and Party secretary of provincial education department as well as Party secretary of the college work council of provincial CPC committee of Heilongjiang, etc, HUST’s whole leading staff ( including those who retired in the last 3 years), all cadres above deputy department director level, professors and democratic parties principals attended the conference.
