The graduation and bachelor degree awarding ceremony for 2013 graduates was held in the stadium at 3 o’clock in the afternoon of June 25th. Those who attended the ceremony are the Party Secretary Gao Jun, the President Li Dayong, vice-president Zhao Hong, Meng Dawei, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee LuYan, vice-president Meng Shangjiu, president of Labor Union Yang Chun, president assistant Rong Panxiang, the dean of the second artillery force of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army stationed in HUST, Wang Liuyu, the deans of the respective college and the representatives of alumnus. The ceremony was held by Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Lu Yan, and the president Li Dayong gave a wonderful speech. There are more than 6500 graduates who attend the graduation ceremony.
The graduation ceremony was held accompanied with solemn national anthem and graceful school song. Professor Meng Dawei, the vice-president of the university and the vice-chairman of the Degree Assess Committee declared the decisions about the graduates. Professor Li Dayong, the president of the university and chairman of the Degree Assess Committee awarded the bachelor degree to the 49 representative students who were from different majors, in the meanwhile, he gave the graduation certificate and diploma to these representatives. Professor Zhao Hong, the vice-president, declared the decision on the graduates who serve for the basic level. Professor Meng Shangjiu declared the decisions to honor those outstanding graduates. Our university leaders awarded the honor certificate to those who serve for the basic level after graduation and the outstanding graduates.
In the conference, You Bo, representative from the teaching staff, the dean of Automation College, hoped that the graduates can create their own excellence and realize their dreams. Wu Xinyu, the representative of the graduates from the Mechanical and Power Engineering College, and Cao Ning, the representative of all the students gave the speech respectively. Mr. Sun Jinghui, the chairman of Harbin Green Company, gave the speech to share his experience and encourage the graduates to create their own life through hard work.
In the ceremony, the president Li Dayong gave a speech to the 6500 graduates. Those graduates were inspired deeply by the wonderful speech, which was the most unforgettable lesson they had had. President Li Dayong said, HUST is the harbor which the graduates can berth, and the teachers here may pay attention to your growth and expect your success. When talking about the development of the university, President Li Dayong hoped that HUST may become the honor to all the alumnus and all the students may benefit from the development of our university.
At the end of the ceremony, president Li Dayong hoped that graduates can set a firm and definite aim which is the premier of being successful. Having a good plan is the necessity for realizing the aim and dream. He also hoped that the graduates could have the perseverance to do whatever they should do.
