Although the weather was cold, the greetings from the university leadership brought the warmth to those who have retired. On January, 24^thin 2014, Zhao Guogang, the secretary of the Party Committee and Li Dayong, the President of Harbin University of Science and Technology, visited the former university leaders, veteran experts and the national labor models, in the meanwhile, they extended their regards to those comrades. The university leadership expressed their gratitude to those who care and support the development and construction of our university.

The university leaders visited Wang Shaojie, Deng Zhongxing, Gao Jun, Zhao Qi, Tang Yunqiu, Zhang Liyong, Yan Chengbin before the Spring Festival. They asked in detail about their health and living situation, listened to their suggestions and advice patiently, and at the same time, the President and the Secretary of the Party Committee of Harbin University of Science and Technology told the former leaders the important events happened in 2013. During the visit, the retired leaders and the retired comrades expressed that they still paid close attention to the development and construction of our university although they were not in the working position at present. They felt proud for the fine development situation and had confidence in the future development. They hoped that all the work in the university can go further in 2014, and they would give their advice actively for the development.

Zhao Guogang, the Secretary of Party Committee, and Li Dayong, the President said that those retired leaders and comrades laid a good foundation for the development and construction for the Harbin University of Science and Technology, and the present leadership, directed by the mass line, may inherit and carry forward the fine tradition of the retired leaders and comrades, firm the developing target of the university, unite the strength from all the teaching staff, deepen the institutional reform in the university and create a better future.

The university leaders also conveyed their New Year’s greetings through the e-mails to the academician Lei Qingquan, Professor Li Zhenjia and Ren Shanzhi who spent their festivals abroad and in other places.

Those who accompanied with Zhao Guogang, the Secretary of Party Committee and Li Dayong, the President were Qi Kaijun who was the executive vice president of Labor Union, Gao Qingshan who was the vice president of labor union, and Chen Hanbin who was the deputy director of Service Office for Retired Staff.
