On the afternoon of March 10,co-sponsored by University Union and Female Ph.D Sodality, a symposium for all female PH.D holders or candidates in HUST’s working staff was held in the lecture hall on the fifth floor of the new building,West Campus, to
celebrate the coming of 2014’s International Working Women’s Day. Ms Li Qinghua, HUST’s dean of School of Marxism as well as vice-president of Female Ph.D Sodality, hosted the symposium.
HUST’s Party secretary Zhao Guogang, Vice Party secretary Lu Yan, University Union’s Chairman Yang Chun, Vice Chairman Qi Kaijun and leaders of Relevant functional departments, including the Department of Organization, the Department of Teaching Affairs, the Department of personnel,etc. Attended the symposium.
Chairman Yang delivered his speech at first. He appreciated highly the activities launched by Female Ph.D Sodality as well as the work every female Ph.D holder or candidate did in their teaching and researching fields during the last year, and extended his warmest congratulations to all of them.
Vice Party secretary Lu also extended her warmest congratulations to whole HUST’s female working staff, and encourage them to enhance their sense of mission and responsibility so as to make greater contribution to the development and construction of HUST.
Then, some of the female Ph.D holders or candidates attending the symposium made their presentation about their own sentiments on the jobs they were engaged in.
Party secretary Zhao made the concluding address on behalf of HUST’sCPCCommittee, pointing out thatfemale Ph.D holders covered 42%HUST Ph.D holders, being and should be a powerful motive to developing and constructing HUST. He wished all of them, as well as the whole HUST’s female working staff a happy Women’s Day, and declared that the benefits of her female working staff would be more highlighted in the future and a more respectable, more harmonious and cosier working surroundings for them would definitely be created in HUST so as to promote their self-confidence,self-worth and self-realization.
