During Oct 13 - 17, led by Vice President Wei Xinlao, who is in charge of science and technology research administration in HUST, a delegation toured in Jiangsu, making field study to learn advanced experiences on cooperation among governments, enterprises, universities and research institutes so as to explore new approaches for HUST to better the ability to transform her staff’s scientific research findings and newly innovated technologies into productive forces.

Except Vice President Wei, the delegation includes Zhang Hui, deputy director of HUST’s Sci & Tech Department and 8 professors (including 3 vice deans) from seven schools of HUST, i.e.School of Material Science and Engineering,School of Mechanical and Power Engineering,School of Computer Science, School of Automation,School of Measurement and Communications,andSchool of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering.

In this tour, the delegation visited Yancheng, Haian, Yangzhong, Danyang and Changzhou in turns, where they were welcomed warmly by the leaders of local governments who are in charge of science and technology research and innovation as well as some entrepreneurs, and were informed the corresponding government policies and industrial running models in great detail, while Vice President Wei and the other delegation members introduced the basic information of HUST in scientific research and technological innovation, and discussed the issues on cooperation in scientific research and findings’ transformation between HUST and local enterprises.

The delegation also made their field studies on two high-tech industrial clusters located there, namely, Yancheng Green Technology City and Changzhou Sci & Edu Town, focusing on some engineering research centers and engineering laboratories jointly established by enterprises and high educations.
