On May 9, the annual Beijing Alumni Council Meeting was held in Beijing Jing Rui International Hot-spring Hotel. The backbone members of the alumni association were all present at the meeting. The Vice President Guo Erjun, who attended the meeting of the Ministry of Education, was present at the alumni fellowship activities after the meeting. The representatives of the alumni association and the ones fromShanghaiandGuangdongwere also present at the relevant activities.
At 3 p.m., the Symposium on HUST Beijing Alumni Association Honoring the 100thAnniversary of Professor Wang Daheng, namely the backbone members’ meeting was held punctually. The meeting was hosted by Standing Vice President of Beijing Alumni Association Zhao Ruolin and had three parts.
The first part is the Symposium Honoring the 100thAnniversary of Professor Wang Daheng. Then Kong Jian, the alumnus from Grade 96, also the Party Committee Member and Director of the Integrated Management Department of the Space Application Engineering and Technology Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, spoke at the symposium as a representative. Then the President of Beijing Alumni Association Li Yunlong on behalf of all theBeijingalumni launched the fund raising activity for Wang Daheng Education Science and Technology Fund as a gift for the 65thanniversary of the alma mater and 100thanniversary of Wang Daheng. The second part was the transition of Beijing Alumni Association. Li Yunlong was elected as the new President of Beijing Alumni Association through the unanimous agreement of the backbone members. Zhao Ruolin, Lu Zhong, Zhou Liqun, Zhao Hongyan, Lv Xilin, Lu Wenjun, Wang Xiaoyan, Ma Shaokui, Yu Kunling and other alumni were elected as the Standing Vice Presidents; Ma Shaokui was also elected as the Secretary-General of the alumni association. There were other corresponding adjustments for other members of the council as well. In the third part, 2015 working schedule and working plan for the next five years of Beijing Alumni Association were discussed and determined.
