On the afternoon of September 19, HUST’s 66th birthday, the 6th “Ruyuanyingcai” Scholarship Awarding Ceremony was held in Lecture Hall on the 5th floor of the New Main Teaching Building, West Campus. Zhao Guogang, Party secretary as well as the chairman of HUST Education Development Foundation, Yang Chun, vice president as well as the executive vice chairman of HUST Education Development Foundation, Yang Zhongxue, director of Student Affairs Department, Wang Qi, vice director of Enrollment & Allocation Department. Jiang Guoyu, vice Party secretary of HUST CYL Committee, Lu Zhong, Chairman of Beijing Alumni Association and other 9 celebrated alumni, together with more than 400 HUST undergraduates attended the ceremony.

After reviewing the work Beijing Alumni Association having done through video with all attendants together, Chairman Lu delivered a speech on behalf of Beijing Alumni Association. He conveyed the warmest greeting to his Alter Mater and all teachers for this special date, as well as the promises to support HUST to cultivate more outstanding graduates. Also, he proposed his own pertinent advice to all HUST undergraduates and wished them achieve academic excellence.

Then the video continued, in which Zhang Dongxu, HUST alumnus of Electricity 09 and the first owner of “Ruyuanyingcai” Scholarship, expressed the similar wishes to his Altar Mater, and the basic information of the 8 winners of this year’s scholarship were illustrated through PPT. Besides checks, every scholarship winner was appointed a career planning tutor, i.e. an excellent HUST alumnus working in Beijing specially selected by Beijing Alumni Association to help him or her widen life horizon, enrich working experience and promote vocational quality, all of whom extended their sincere blessing to these scholarship winners through their delicately-made videos.

Party secretary Zhao and Chairman Lu granted the 8 scholarship winners certificates, as well as the presents prepared for their tutors. Ma Shaokui, vice chairman and general secretary of Beijing Alumni Association, granted invitation to 8 HUST undergraduates who had been recognized to participate in a tour study in Beijing sponsored by Beijing Alumni Association.

On behalf of 8 scholarship winners, Luo Yiming, undergraduate of 2014 majored in Electricity gave his personal testimonies, so did Feng Zhihui, chairman of Huizhou Alumni Association, on behalf of all alumni guests.

Vice President Yang delivered his speech, in which he extended his welcome to all alumni guests who had traveled for so long from their own working places back to HUST, and his own congratulation to Lu’s taking his chairman position for the 2nd time. He also introduced the work of HUST alumni having done to feed back their Alter Mater in great details, and spoke highly of the outstanding work done by Beijing Alumni Association, esp., the donation to support HUST Education Fund having been made for three years in succession.

Then the interaction step decided that three HUST undergraduates would have “wild card” to start their tour study to Beijing.

At last, in the affectionately chorus of the song “Thank You” sung by all successive sponsored together on the stage, the ceremony ended successfully.
