Education is a long-term endeavor and teachers play a very important role in it. At 3 p.m. on September 9 in the auditorium on the fifth floor of New Teaching Building, our school held a grand meeting to celebrate the 32nd Teachers’ Day with the day approaching. Meanwhile, remarkable teacher representatives were invited to deliver a report. The meeting aimed to award those groups and individuals who were outstanding in teaching, scientific research, management, services and so forth so that their excellence could be recognized and followed. All school leaders, together with mid-level management staff, directors of departments, all college counselors, advanced individuals and representatives of groups, some teachers and student representatives were present at the meeting. Lu Yan, Deputy Party Secretary, presided over the meeting.

During the meeting, excellent groups and individuals were presented awards by our school leaders. Lu Yan, Deputy Party Secretary, announced the lists of advanced groups and individuals that had won national awards. Secretary Zhao Guogang, and President Li Dayong, awarded the advanced groups and individuals. Vice-president Guo Erjun announced the lists of advanced groups and individuals that have achieved provincial honors. Meanwhile, students who did well at other levels were also presented awards.

For a long time, our teachers and staff members have long been following our school’s spirits: “unremitting self-improvement and being realistic and innovative”. Graduates from all walks of life have done incredibly wonderful jobs in their positions, making their contributions to the development of our school. At the meeting, teacher representatives gave speeches, sharing their experiences and insights of teaching. Ordinary as they are, these teachers show how they are dedicated to the careers and students, being a guide on students’ way to success selflessly and continuously. President Li Dayong expressed sincere and heartfelt greetings and thanks to all the teachers and staff members, together with those advanced individuals and groups, and respect goes to the retirees. He stressed that currently our school was experiencing a tough time, facing a lack of talents and money and we need to work as a team through all odds, believing that “united, we stand; divided, we fall”.

In the end, President Li raised hopes to all the teachers and staff members that they need to cultivate one’s morality, research with great concentration, and make bold changes and innovations in order to build a most prestigious and well-received campus.
