At the invitation of our university, a delegation of nine people, including Jack Johnston, regional manager of the international department of Monash University, Australia, visited our school in the afternoon of October 19. The vice president Fang Wenbin met with the delegation in the second meeting room of the main building. The meeting was presided over by Jiang Yufeng, director of School of International Education and director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department.
The vice President Fang Wenbin first welcomed the delegation’s visit and then introduced our general situation and international cooperation to them. He noted that professional matching degree of two universities is high and highly complementary. We will intensify international cooperation in the next five years, to further expand students studying abroad, especially the countries such as America, Britain and Australia, providing students with communication channel and scale to study abroad, serving students and expanding the school international influence at the same time. He hopes to enhance mutual understanding and lay the foundation for future cooperation through this exchange.
Jack Johnston, regional manager of the international division of Monash University, Australia, first of all thanks for our invitation and reception and introduce Monash University in Australia. Monash University is the world’s top universities, Australia’s top university and one of the most famous eight universities alliance in Australia. It is a national research university with its outstanding teaching and excellent scientific research and enjoys a reputation in the world. He expressed the hope that the students of Harbin University of Science and Technology could study at Monash University and look forward to further cooperation with our school in the future. Subsequently, Monash college of art and design and architecture, school of humanities and social science, college of engineering, college of information technology, medical school and school of nursing and health representative respectively introduces the situation about college and major settings.
During the visit, the Australian delegation also visited the sensor laboratory of the institute of technology and communication engineering and the key laboratory of dielectric engineering in the college of electrical and electronic engineering.
That evening, the delegation introduced Monash University, the Australian higher education, and application process to our students in the lecture hall on the 5thfloor of the Main Building.
