On the evening of June 20th, the 2024 Graduation Gala, titled “Hengxing Reflects the Four Seasons, Youth Displays the Future,” was successfully staged in the Gymnasium of the West Campus. On this memorable occasion of graduation, HUST extends sincere blessings to the graduates as they embark on a new journey in life, wishing them a promising future and hoping that when they reunite, the warmth and familiarity of their university days will still be present. Zhao Shuishan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Yang Zhongxue, Vice President, Dai Xiangzhu, Director of the Student Affairs Office of the Party Committee, Han Yubo, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, representatives from relevant functional departments, party secretaries and deputy secretaries of colleges, as well as approximately 4,000 graduates gathered to witness the performance.
The graduation gala recounted the university journey of the 2024 graduates, from their first day to graduation through four themed sections: “Autumn: Harvesting Dreams and Embarking on Studies in HUST,” “Winter: Preserving Wisdom, Accumulating Knowledge, and Preparing for Greatness,” “Spring: Sprouting New Beginnings, Blossoming in Warmth, Competing in Splendor,” and “Summer: Blooming in Full Force, Cicadas Chirping and Soaring with Dreams.” The gala celebrated youth, expressed gratitude to the alma mater HUST, and envisioned the future through a diverse array of artistic expressions including songs, dances, situational dramas, musical instrument performances, martial arts demonstrations, Han culture presentations, and fashion shows. Teachers and students shared the stage, creating a lively and exhilarating atmosphere filled with a splendid array of performances that captivated the audience.
With the strong support of the university’s Party Committee, the University Youth League Committee, in collaboration with the Student Union and the University Student Art Troupe, meticulously planned and rehearsed the event, preparing a heartfelt farewell performance for all graduates with extracurricular time over a month. “When gathered, we are a blazing fire; when scattered, we are stars across the sky.” With the earnest instructions of the alma mater in mind, the students will continue to uphold HUST’s spirit. In their pursuit of integrating knowledge with action, they embark on a journey applying their knowledge in practice and striving for personal growth and success. While keeping their eyes on the stars, they remain firmly grounded. As they navigate through life’s challenges and strive for success, they relentlessly pursue excellence and forge ahead courageously. With dreams tucked securely in their hearts and a burning passion that never fades, they aspire to become those ever-brilliant, ever-radiant “Hengxing”.
