On April 23rd, on the occasion of International Labor Day approaching, thefirst“Persons of the Year of Longjiang Craftsmen”and the 2023 Provincial“May 1st Labor Award”awards ceremony was held at the Heilongjiang Broadcasting and Television Station. This event was jointly hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee and the Heilongjiang Provincial Federation of Trade Unions. Wang Zhijun, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, He Liangjun, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department, and Jia Yumei, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress and Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, attended the event. Professor Hu Jun from the School of Automation of our university was awarded the 2023 Heilongjiang Province May 1st Labor Medal.

Professor Hu Jun is a globally highly cited scientist, a highly cited scholar in China, a Humboldt scholar, a distinguished teacher of ideological and political education awarded by the Ministry of Education, a Provincial Outstanding Youth, a Longjiang Youth Scholar, an Outstanding Teacher in the province, an Outstanding Communist Party member in the province, and a recipient of the Provincial Youth May Fourth Medal. Over the past ten years, he has been dedicated to teaching and research, undertaking more than 10 national and provincial key projects and publishing over 120 SCI papers (including 17 ESI highly cited papers). He has established“Collaborative Innovation Team for Complex System Analysis and Control”and“Teaching Team for Ideological and Political Education”recognized by the Ministry of Education. Leading his team, he has collaborated with multiple companies in Heilongjiang Province and Shandong Province to conduct research on the integration of agriculture and industry. His focus has been on improving the efficiency and safety of unmanned operations in agricultural provinces such as Heilongjiang, resulting in over 10 national invention patents with independent intellectual property rights granted.
