HUST Ice & Snow Art Team Achieves More in 2018-2019

Recently, theIce&Snow Art Teamled by Wang Shunhui, director of HUST’s Art & Engineering Office from School of Arts, was interviwed by AP, CCTV Net and other authoritative media both at home and abroad. It is the second time that HUST was paid extensive attention by international world for her works ofice&snow art, following the first time when a HUST delegation, led by Dean Lin Xuewei from School of Arts, was invited to participate in2018“Frozen”Ice&Snow ArtExibition, Canada, and was extensively broadcast by Canadian media.

Ice&Snow ArtDesignis one of the most advantageous disciplines inHUST’sSchool of Arts. During the last few years, innovation & enterpreneurship education was applied in this discipline and more and moreHUSTstudents were organized to participate iniceorsnowsculpturecompetitions of all levels,under thesupport of Department of Teaching Affairs and some other functional departments.

From 2018 to now,HUST studentsachievedgreat international honors by winning over 30 prizes inice sculptureandsnow sculpturecompetitions of various levels (4 international, 6 national, 7 provincial, etc) in some high-leveled events, including the ice-sculpture contest held in HarbinInternational Ice and Snow Festival,Chinaandthesnow-sculpture contest held inSunIslandInternational Snow Sculpture Art Fair.

Besides,HUST was granted“Excellent Organizing Unit”Award for the 13thNational Undergraduates’Ice Lantern&Ice SculptureArt Innovation DesignCompetition, and“Excellent Organization”Award for2018HeilongjiangUndergraduates’Ice Lantern&Ice SculptureArt Innovation DesignCompetition, while Dean Lin was awarded as excellent tutor in both of the two competitions. Director Wang was also awarded as excellent tutor in the 13thNational Undergraduates’Ice Lantern&Ice SculptureArt Innovation DesignCompetition, as well as the 6th“Winter Rhyme”HeilongjiangUndergraduates’Snow SculptureCompetition.
