From December 26 to December 30, 2010, the 5th Chinese Students Health and Energy Competition — Qualifying Competition of 2011 Cheer & Dance Worlds was held in Guangzhou Sport University. Hosted by Federation University Sports of China, the competition scheduled five events including cheering squad, aerobics, bodybuilding, rhythmic gymnastics and hip-hop, attracting more than 2000 athletes from 116 schools and universities all over the country, and was the largest-scaled national competition held by China Student Aerobics and Rhythmic Gymnastics Association in 2010. Our university sent the varsity team consisting of Mr. Ren Yong, Head of Department of Physical Education, Coach Su Li, An Lei and Wang Xiaoguang, as well as Sun Ying and other 17 students to take part in the competition inGuangzhou.
Through 4 days’ fierce competition, with the wonderful and perfect performance, our university’s cheering squad, Bing Ling 4°, got the national champion in the event of Cheering Squad, Jazz Difficulty III Group, and national second prize in Drama Dancing Group, and got the qualification for the Competition of 2011 Cheer & Dance Worlds; Zhang Shaohua ranked 8th in the Man Aerobics Individual event; Du Hai,Cao Shuyuanand Zhang Shaohua ranked 5th in the Aerobics Team event; Professor An Lei won the honorary title of Prominent Teacher of Federation University Sports of China; Sun Ying was selected into the China-team-receiving-training list, having the opportunity to take part in the 2011 Cheer & Dance Worlds on behalf of Chinese university students. The achievement got in this competition was the best in our university’s history in the national large-scaled competition, and also the best forHeilongjiangcheering squad in the national competition.
