At the invitation of Niigata Institute of Technology (NIT), the delegation from Harbin University of Science and Technology (HUST) with Prof. Wang Jinghai of theSchool of Electrical and Electronic Engineeringas the head paid an eight-day intercollegiate visit to the institute from October 24thto November 1st.
The two parties signed an Inter-university Cooperation Agreement in Oct. 1996. Since then, the two parties have kept a long-term cooperative relationship for 15 years. To promote the development of academic and educational cooperation between the two parties, delegations of professors exchange visits annually. Up to now, HUST has sent a number of teachers and students to do research work and study in NIT.
The Delegation received warm welcome at NIT. On the symposia, the two parties looked back at their deep friendship and extend their best wishes to each other. On behalf of the HUST and President Li Dayong, Prof. Wang Jinghai conveyed our blessings and expectations to NIT. He spoke highly of the substantial results yielded by their exchanges and cooperation in the past 15 years and hoped to realize mutual development through exchanges on a higher level. President of NIT made a detailed introduction to the development of NIT and the studying life of two exchange students sent by our university and exchanged ideas with our party on the issue of exchange students’ cultivation.
During the visit, the delegation investigated the school-running features, visited some of the laboratories of the School of Machinery and the School of Architecture and observed experiments. On the symposia held on October 28th, Prof. Huang Jinzhe and Prof. Zheng Wei from HUST gave academic lectures on Ultrashort Pulse Laser Transmission and Transformation and The Features and Application of Doped Lithium Niobate Crystals respectively. Prof. Shinobu from NIT gave an academic lecture introducing the latest research on medical auxiliary equipment for disabled persons in detail.
Besides, the delegation visited the exchange students sent by our university, visited Yuanshi Brewery and Kashiwazaki Folk Art Museum, experiencing Kimura chado culture, benefiting a lot from it. The school-running features and management system of NIT left the delegation a deep impression.
This visit enhanced the communication and cooperation between the two parties and established a foundation of further learning from the advanced Japanese educational technology and development experience and improving the level of research work of our university.
