Hosted by Heilongjiang Provincial Computer Academy and undertaken by HUST, the 7th Heilongjiang ACM-ICPC Collegiate Programming Contest was grandly opened on May 26th at HUST campus. 130 teams from 22 Heilongjiang Provincial Universities, and Tonghua Normal College, No. 3 Middle School of Harbin, and Jiamusi No. 1 High-School, appeared in the final contest. HUST assigned 12 teams to the contest.

The opening ceremony was held at 0220 Lecture Hall at 2:00 p.m. on May 26th. Concerned leaders attended the opening ceremony, namely Vice-President of HUST Meng Dawei, Vice-President of Heilongjiang Provincial Computer Academy Hao Zhongxiao, Director of Academic Affairs Office of HUST Ge Baojun, Vice-Director Song Qingkun, Director of HPCA Wang Peidong, Northeastern Regional Contest-Guide of ACM-ICPC Professor Yu Jingshan, and others. The ceremony was presided by director of Computer Science and Technology School, Chen Deyun.

Vice-President Meng Dawei delivered the opening speech. He reviewed our excellent achievements in ACM-ICPC and improvements on Students’ technology competition and practical innovation ability, and expressed his sincere appreciation to HPCA and other universities for their support. Professor Hao Zhongxiao gave a report, and conveyed his appreciation to the leaders and staffs of HUST for their efforts of organizing this contest. Professor Wang Peidong presented the regulation of this contest. Lv Gang and Peng Wenwen respectively gave speeches as volunteer and contestant.

The Contest was started at competition terrain on Western Campus at 9 a.m. on May 27th, lasting 5 hours. Through the fierce competition, the team of HIU gained the first place.

Vice-Director of Academic Affairs Office Song Qingkun commented on the contest in Closing Ceremony. Director of HUST Academic Affairs Office Ge Baojun gave the closing speech. Departments including Computer Science and Technology School, Academic Affairs Office, Experiment Management Office, Logistics Group, Security Office, HUST Hospital and so forth provided great efforts for supporting this contest.
