On 26th August, more than 30 alumni from Grade 1962 of the original Harbin Electrical Institute returned to HUST. Li Dayong—the President of HUST, alumni association president—and Yang Jun-chairman of the trade union, vice president of the School Alumni Association met the alumni on Eastern Campus and had lunch with them in the eastern campus student canteen accompanied by Director of General Office of alumni, alumni association secretary general Chen Hongbin who also participated in alumni reunion activities.

It was a special time when these alumni entered the university, and it was a time when three years of natural disasters occurred. However, they studied hard in the college life and devoted their youth to the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. Among them, there is a group of outstanding alumni emerging with the representative of Zhang Zhuo—Ordnance Engineering College of Chinese PLA major general and Dai Qingyu—former president of Dayawan Nuclear Power Operation and Management Co. Ltd.

President Li Dayong extended a warm welcome to the alumni of Grade 62 for returning to alma mater. He showed the development of the school to alumni, and invited the alumni every year to go back to HUST. At the same time, Li wished alumni healthy and happy.

The Alumni Association made careful arrangements for Grade 1962 alumni to return to alma mater, presented the exquisite souvenirs for the alumni and prepared the Retro Lunch in the eastern student canteen. During the dinner, as the tutor of Grade 1962, the senior teachers attending the activities express pride of the Grade 1962; alumni who have expressed his attachment to alma mater and grateful to their teachers. General Zhang Zhuo used five “cannot forget” to express the alumni’s emotion to their alma mater.

In the process of returning to the party, the alumni are in high spirit and very pleased and proud. When parting, they plan to get together again in future.
