The Harbin University of Science and Technology (HUST) started adult higher education in the 50s of last century. In 1995, three higher institutes, Harbin University of Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Electrical Engineering and Harbin Higher Industrial Vocational College, combined into the present Harbin University of Science and Technology (HUST). School of Adult Higher Education was established shortly afterwards, on the base of which School of Continuing Education was founded in 2005. The running system of “two titles, one team” helped realize the shift from adult higher education to continuing education, and finally in 2008, the name ofSchoolofAdultand Continuing Education was put into use.
With the hard work of generations of the school faculty, the adult higher education of HUST has achieved scale and educational features, enjoying a high reputation and social impact inside and outside the province. The school has three educational levels which are undergraduate education with high school as the starting point, undergraduate education with junior college education as the starting point and junior college education, offering forms of education like part-time, full-time, teaching by correspondence, continuing education and self-taught higher education. In recent years, the school was granted Outstanding Unit of Adult Higher Education in Heilongjiang Province by Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education; Advanced Collective of Self-taught Higher Education Examination in Heilongjiang Province by Heilongjiang Provincial Self-taught Education Commission; Advanced Collective of Foreign Language Tests for Adult Graduates to Apply for Bachelor Degrees in Heilongjiang Province by Heilongjiang Provincial Degree-authorized Commission.
The school has over 30 undergraduate and junior college specialties, including Computer Science and Technology, Accountancy, Marketing, Automation, Computerized Accounting, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Electrical Commerce, Law, Mechanical Electronics Engineering, Electrical Insulation and Electric Cable, Civil Engineering, Thermal Energy and Power Engineering, Communication Engineering, Economic Control, Traffic Engineering, Electromechanical Integration, Physical Distribution Management, and Financial Management, etc. The correspondence branches distribute in the provinces of Hainan, Jiangsu, Henan Shandong, Jiangxi, Anhui, Hunan, Sinkiang, Guangxi, etc, with an enrollment of about 8000 students. For decades, the adult higher education of HUST has cultivated thousands of various professional and technical personnel and management personnel playing an important role in the social and economic construction ofHeilongjiangProvince, other provinces and municipality, among whom several thousands of the graduates are presented with all kinds of bachelor’s degrees.
Now, under the correct leadership of the university, the School of Adult and Continuing Education is following a scientific approach of development in an all round way, seizing opportunities to make progress with great enthusiasm. Efforts should be made to explore the school’s advantages to deepen reform, reinforce the educational management, strengthen the foundation of education, improve the quality of education, enhance comprehensive institutional strengths, and expand social impact, striving for the goal of making more valuable contributions to the local economic construction and the development of the country’s adult higher education and continuing education. In the 21st century, the adult higher education of HUST will grow into one with higher quality, stronger capacity, more efficiency and one reaching more people.

Projects Introduction
1. Mould Design and Producing Technique Advanced Training Class
The project aims to profoundly improve the professional quality and the specialty competence of the engineering technical personnel. Tightly integrated with the practical situation of enterprises, the course is mainly about mould design and producing techniques applied in modern enterprises, taught by celebrated experts and professors of HUST.
2. Modern Business Administration Advanced Training Class
The project aims to improve management capacity and raise the standard of modernization management of enterprises leaders, understand and command the trend of modern enterprises management development. Main courses include Quality of Enterprises Leader, Human Recourses Management, Organization Behavior, Management, Financial Management, Business Law and Regulation, Production Management, etc. Lectures are given by professors of HUST.
3. JYPC Training Projects
JYPC has been registered by the country and its register ID is 200002101591. The registration exams involve 790 exams of 21 categories. JYPC Certificates have legal effect and authority nationally.
4. Make-up Classes for Adult Higher Education Examination
The project aims to provide make-up classes for students with intention to take the adult higher education examinations. Experienced teachers are invited to form the lecturer team.
