HUST Delegation of 35 Members Attend the 8th IFOST in Mongolia

From June 28 to 30, the 8thInternational Forum on Strategic Technology (the 8thIFOST) was held in Mongolian University of Science and Technology. With the great support from the leaders of HUST as well as the elaborate preparation of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, 32 teachers and 3 postgraduates attended the forum. From the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, School of Measurement-Control Technology and Communications Engineering, School of Material Science and Engineering, School of Computer Science, School of Automation, School of Mechanical and Power Engineering, School of Applied Science, School of Architecture and Civil Engineering and the Network Center, the teachers and students totally published 60 papers, ranking first at the forum, praised by the experts. The members of HUST delegation got the consensus that through the forum, the academic horizon was broadened, the research hot issues and the advanced technology were got to know, the friendship with the foreign colleges and universities was established and the foundation for the future educational and scientific research cooperation was laid.

On the morning of June 28, at the opening ceremony, the Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office Xi Zhaohui delivered a speech on behalf of HUST. At the meeting, Professor Zhang Yongde from the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering gave an academic report titledRobotic System for Tooth-arrangement Robot of Complete Denture Manufacturing.

Nine teachers from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering gave 5 oral reports and 4 poster reports. Fourteen papers were published by the School of Measurement-Control Technology and Communications Engineering; 5 teachers took part in the forum. 13 papers were published by the School of Computer Science; 5 teachers took part in the forum.3 teachers, one doctoral candidate as well as one master degree candidate from the School of Material Science and Engineering gave 6 oral reports. 2 professors from the School of Automation gave 2 poster reports and took part in the group academic exchange meeting.Two teachers from the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering gave 2 oral reports; Professor Zhang Yongde was invited to host the group exchange meeting as the Vice Secretary. 10 papers were published by the School of Applied Science; one professor took part in the forum and gave the poster report.Two teachers from the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering gave one oral report and one poster report; one professor and one postgraduate took part in the forum and gave one oral report as well.

The forum was concluded on June 30. At the banquet of the closing ceremony, the Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office Xi Zhaohui extended congratulations to the success of the forum on behalf of HUST and expressed gratitudes for the careful arrangement and gracious hospitality of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, looking forward to meeting in Bangladesh in 2014.
