Students from College of Civil Engineering and Architecture of HUST Winning Awards in AIM 2018 International Design Competition

A winner’s list of AIM 2018 Skyscraper Design Competition has been recently uploaded in eVolo, an American architecture website. A team of HUST contestants of five graduate students and undergraduates (Li Chunyang, Yang Lv, Zhao Zhenhang, Xiao Ruize and Wang Yuequn) got a prize of honor due to their great design entitled Volcano Tower. This is so far the first international prize in this field in HUST got by the students of Architecture major. The honor not only adds glories to HUST, but also promotes the reform of innovative talents cultivation mode and teaching quality of the discipline.

526 designs are collected in the competition altogether, and 30 of them are awarded. The first prize goes to Skyshelter from Poland, the second to a team from Hongkong and the third to a team from Chile whose design is a fire-resistant skyscraper.

Sponsored by eVolo magazine, the eVolo Skyscraper Design Competition is one of the most authoritative skyscraper design competitions in the world. The competition, which is very influential, is now accepted as an annual gathering festival of global architects and the architecture design lovers. Many famous architects and artists from all around the world join and compete in the competition.
