On the afternoon of October 11, 2017, Professor Alexei Belov and Andre Mr. Andreyev of Engineering Institute of Russia Far Eastern Federal University visited HUST. Secretary of Party Committee of HUST Zhao Guogang and Vice President Fang Wenbin met with the delegation at Conference Room II of Teaching Building; both parties held in-depth talks concerning cooperation. Vice President Fang Wenbin chaired the meeting, which was attended by the Director of School of International Cultural Education and Director ofDepartment of International Cooperation and Exchanges Jiang Yufeng and relevant staff as well.
Secretary Zhao Guogang firstly extended warm welcome to the delegation, introduced the history, present situation and international cooperation of HUST, and gave a detailed review of long-term cooperation. Secretary Zhao Guogang pointed out that in the recent years, the government of China had strongly boosted the development strategy of “the Belt and Road” and the cooperation between Russia and China occupied a significant position. Russia Far Eastern Federal University and colleges and universities of Heilongjiang Province are always maintaining good relationship of cooperation. Since the agreement of cooperation was signed in 2015, the teachers and students of both parties have had closer communication. As Russia Far Eastern Federal University and HUST share a striking discipline similarity, it is hoped that the friendship between these two universities will be deepened to promote common development through this exchange.
Professor Alexei Belov of Engineering Institute of Russia Far Eastern Federal University expressed their gratitude to the hospitalities from HUST. He said that he got along like an old friend with Secretary Zhao Guogang and hoped that new impetus of cooperation would be found out through this visit.
