At the request of our university, the delegation of four people paid a visit to our school on 13 October, 2016. They were Antoine Guillemet, Minister of French Higher Education in Cooperation Office of Cultural Education of Consulate General of France in Shenyang, Thibault Cassin, director of Department of Process Management and Student Assessment, Wang Qiang, director of Department of Promotion and Overseas Study Guidance, Zhang Jing, Heilongjiang regional director of Department of Promotion and Overseas Study Guidance.

On the afternoon of October 13, Vice-president Fang Wenbin met the delegation in the second meeting room in the main building. First, Mr. Fang extended a warm welcome to the delegation and then he introduced our university. He pointed out that over the years our school has established close links with those in Russia, Belarus, Japan, South Korea and so forth. It is hoped that this visit could enhance our understanding towards French universities, develop further cooperation with each other, and seek partnership in the areas of art, computer, economy and management, and strengthen exchanges in teaching faculty, students and research.

Mr. Antoine Guillemet expressed thanks for our school’s warm welcome and organizing the students to join in the introduction meeting. He noted that the French education popularization was currently one of the main tasks of Cooperation Office of Cultural Education, aiming at the cooperation among the universities in the three Northeastern provinces. He also mentioned that on the 20th of this month, a fall meeting of French universities held by the Consulate General would be held in Harbin, and at that time representatives from 19 French universities would be joining in the meeting. Later, the delegate also introduced the basics concerning the teaching, tuition fees, and entrance requirements. Mr. Fang Wenbin promised that our school would send representatives to be present at the meeting on 20th this month, hoping to negotiate further issues about the exchanges and cooperation between one another.

Altogether over 150 students attended the meeting and it provided our students with basic information of studying in France, giving students access to the higher education in France by introducing a new approach of studying abroad.(Photograph by:Liu Chang)
