On Oct. 24, Vice President of HUST Liu Shenghui met with CCTV the Second Russian Contest instructor Markov. During the meeting, Liu Shenghui first extended his warm welcome towards Markov and briefly introduced the status quo of HUST and Foreign Languages School of HUST, and the teaching guideline. He emphasized that HUST support all kinds of competition relevant to study and expressed his best wishes and expectation towards the contest. Markov introduced the core and the present state of the contest. He expressed his appreciation towards HUST delegate and his determination to lead the delegate for better performance. Foreign Languages School Director Jiang Yufeng and Vice Dean of Russian Department Xu Pei also attended the meeting.
After the meeting, Liu Shenghui and Jiang Yufeng were interviewed by CCTV jounalists individually. During the interview, Liu Shenghui extended his gratitude towards the contest organizer. He commented that the contest not only provided Chinese youth with the opportunity to understand Russian media and contemporary Russian society and culture, but also provided platform for Russian to understand the character of Chinese youth.
The delegate of HUST is composed of four contestants and the supervisor is associate professor Xu Pei. Sep. 23, 2016, the delegate was promoted to the competition with five other delegates--Beijing Universisty delegate, Beijing Foreign Studies University , Shanghai International Studies University, Zhejing University and Heilongjiang University.
The contest organizer assigned one instructor for each delegate. The instructor will experience 10 days preparation with one’s own team, and on Nov. 5th, the delegate will present themselves on the stage of CCTV. Alexe Markov is the instructor of HUST deleate and he is an actor, director, host, play writer and teacher in art school with rich teaching and stage experience. With his guidance, HUST delegate will present excellent performance in the final.
