HUST Pingpong Player Wins First Prize in the To Germany Timbhar Table Tennis Competition

Recently “To Germany Timbhar Table Tennis Competition of Daqing Session” was held, and our student Xing Hangwei won the gold medal in men’s singles in the group under the age of 35.

The competition was hosted by Timbhar Company, undertaken by Daqing Dongfanghui Table Tennis Club, and Jingying Table Tennis website and the world of table tennis, the designated official media, covered the competition. The competition has four parallel sessions: Bengbu, Beijing, Daqing and Zhengzhou. The champions in these four sessions will have qualifications to be voted online sponsored by Jingying Table Tennis website. The winners in this stage will have access to the competition held in Germany for free. “To Germany Timbhar cup” series will make it possible for players at home and abroad to interact with each other, promoting the development of table tennis.

Hundreds of top players from over 10 cities took part in the competition, among whom there were the former national team players and present provincial team players. Against all odds, our top school player Xing Hangwei, from Class 1, Grade 2015 of Management Department won the first place under the leadership of coach Yao Lan. Another student Yang Yuhao, from Class 8, Grade 2013 of Department of Mechanics ranked fifth.

During the competition, our school players fulfilled the concept of HUST Sunshine Sports, and promoted the tradition of working hard to achieve higher position, and displayed the fearlessness of people on the campus. The outstanding result is owing to the systematic teaching and training as well as the instructions of all the staff members and the hard training of each player. All of our school team players will follow the tradition of our school by working hard, training rigorously so as to create new excellence.
